Not Enough Champagne

Come for the political analysis, stay for the bad jokes and wrong predictions. Not Enough Champagne is run by Steve Haynes, who in a previous life was a Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats, and Cory Hazlehurst, a Labour activist who has written about politics for the New Statesman. We try to work out what the hell is going on with British Politics and take a step back to shed new light on issues most news outlets don't talk about.

In this episode, Steve and Cory talk to Charlotte Galpin about an article published about her in The Daily Express. We discuss what national sovereignty really means, are female academics singled out for attack by the right wing press, and how the voices of women are being silenced both in the Brexit debate and other areas of politics as well.

In this episode, Steve and Cory are once again joined by Brigid Jones to discuss whether the UK is entering a new "culture war". What is the difference between the American "culture wars" on abortion and gun control with the British culture wars? What are the main divides in the UK, and where in the country do they occur? We also discuss the National Social Centre's Attitudes Survey and look at changing views of Brits on tax, spend and social issues as well.

In this episode, Steve, Cory and Brigid Jones try to make sense of the Trump Administration so far. In it we reveal the real reason Theresa May's power has ebbed away, misogyny and masculinity, and what the deal is behind those handshakes.

In this episode, we talk about the last week of British Politics with Brigid Jones. We make ill-advised toast metaphors about Theresa May and discuss how the DUP deal shows the Conservatives are really bad negotiators. We also wonder where this leaves the government's austerity agenda. Finally we talk about the Queen's Speech votes and Labour's position on the single market.
