Not Enough Champagne

Come for the political analysis, stay for the bad jokes and wrong predictions. Not Enough Champagne is run by Steve Haynes, who in a previous life was a Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats, and Cory Hazlehurst, a Labour activist who has written about politics for the New Statesman. We try to work out what the hell is going on with British Politics and take a step back to shed new light on issues most news outlets don't talk about.

Two teams of political heavyweights trade blows in the highly anticipated Not Enough Champagne end of year quiz. Steve and Cory are joined by Luke John Davies, John Cotton and Brigid Jones for a final time to sort-of review 2017.

Our theme tune is Plucky Good Times by Dave Depper and James Cram designed our logo.

(One again, we apologies for the slightly echoey nature of this podcast. It will be fixed in next week's episode.)

Steve and Cory are once again joined by John Cotton, Brigid Jones and Luke John Davies for a chat about all the things we have not managed to talk about on the podcast this year. We discuss the persecution of the Rohingya, authoritarianism in Eastern Europe, Catalonia, and of course whether we are going to die in a nuclear war.

(we apologise again for the echoy nature of this episode. Normal service will resume in 2018)

Our theme tune is Plucky Good Times by Dave Depper and James Cram designed our logo.

Mid Worcester PPC in 2017 Fred Grindrod joins us for the first time to talk about Brexit in 2017. We talk about the ghosts of Brexit Past (David Cameron and the referendum campaign), the Ghosts of Brexit Present (David Davis, Liam Fox, Boris Johnson and Theresa May) as well as the Ghosts of Brexit Yet To Come (How to solve the Irish Border situation as well as avoid totalitarianism and economic catastrophe).

Our logo is designed by James Cram. Dave Depper wrote our theme tune.

In the first of our podcasts looking back on 2017, we think about the election in June with John Cotton, LJ Davies and Brigid Jones.

Our theme tune is by Dave Depper and James Cram designed our logo.

(We apologise again for the slightly echoy nature of this podcast. Hopefully it won't impede your enjoyment of what is a kickass episode)

"We need to be tough on Brexit and tough on the causes of Brexit".

In this episode LJ Davies and Brigid Jones join Cory and Steve to talk about an eventful last week in British Politics. What does this week mean for Brexit negotiations and Theresa May's future?

Our theme tune is designed by Dave Depper and James Cram designed our logo.

(Apologies this week for the slightly echoy quality on the podcast this week. I hope it does not spoil your listening enjoyment.)

"I'm sure British listeners can't imagine what it's like to have a caretaker government that is in office but not in power."

Charlotte Galpin, a lecturer in German and European Politics at ht University of Birmingham, joins Steve and Cory to explain what's happening in Germany and what the next German Government might look like.

Our theme tune is Plucky Good Times by Dave Depper and our logo is designed by James Cram.
